25 Things I am Thankful for – Fitness Edition #4 Water
Water is my beverage of choice! The body is about 70% water, so not consuming enough can be harmful. How much is enough? Take your body weight, divide it by two, and that is how many ounces of water you should be drinking everyday. There are numerous benefits to drinking enough water:
- quenches thirst
- keeps everything in the body lubricated
- keeps skin looking hydrated and healthy
- prevents fluid retention
- suppresses appetite
- flushes out toxins
- improves focus
- prevents injuries and headaches
I enjoy the taste, or lack of taste, that water has, however, I know it can be tough at times to drink something that has no flavor. Using fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs, there are numerous combinations that can be made to enhance the “flavor” of water. My all time favorite…fresh lemon, plain and simple. 🙂
